Question: Which versions of Oracle are supported when using the native Oracle connection in the data-definition wizard?
Answer: CardExchange uses the Oracle Data Provider 10.2.0.2, which is backward compatible to Oracle 9. We haven't tested the data provider with newer versions of the database. Newer versions of the Oracle Data Provider can be implemented on request if the current version causes problems. This can be done manually without creating a new release. Please, note that the newest data providers run on the .NET Framework 3.5, which doesn't support Windows 2000 anymore.
The release of CardExchange 4.0 did not include an upgrade o the Oracle Data Provider. It still uses version 10.2.0.2.
Please, note that you have to install the Oracle Data Provider from the CardExchange CD. It is not installed automatically when you install CardExchange. The version of the Oracle Data Provider you install has to be 10.2.0.2, as it has to match the version CardExchange is expecting and not the version of the database server, which is probably Oracle 9.
